EARTHLING TWO

Earth is home to millions of animal and plant species, forming a complex and interconnected web of life. Yet human activity continues to place enormous pressure on ecosystems, contributing to biodiversity loss, species extinction, and accelerating climate change.

In 2021, artists from around the world came together for Earthling Two, an online international exhibition presented by Illume Art Gallery. The exhibition sought to honour the many forms of life that share our planet while drawing attention to the environmental challenges and threats facing Earth today.

Bringing together diverse artistic perspectives, Earthling Two explored humanity’s relationship with nature and encouraged reflection on our shared responsibility toward the living world. The participating artists contributed compelling artworks and thoughtful statements, making the exhibition a meaningful and distinctive reflection on the state of our planet.

Among the selected works was the photography series We Are Nature I, which explores the connection between humans and the natural world through photographic imagery.

The series was presented as part of Earthling Two, alongside works by artists from around the world who shared a common interest in celebrating and reflecting on the extraordinary diversity of life on Earth.
